is a professional trade association pursuant to Law no. 4 of 14 January 2013, present and protagonist in Italian Counseling, with a long history that is characterized, by the ability to look beyond, give shape to change and evolve now, into a more modern and functional associative and organizational model, at the service and listening to professionals.
The Association, which is democratic, apolitical, non-denominational, is non-profit and bases its membership structure on the principles of democracy and participation; It proposes and pursues the following aims: to bring together and organize all those who practice counseling professionally.
Counseling is a profession that promotes the development of the potential, qualities and resources of individuals, groups and organizations; pursue the ever greater legal recognition of the profession according to the provisions of Law no. 4 of 14 January 2013 and subsequent amendments and additions, as well as according to all national and regional laws in force, consequently validating and certifying the professionalism and quality of the services offered as counselors, by its members;Â enhance the skills of its members, take care of ongoing training and supervise the correct fulfilment of this obligation for professionals, also pursuant to art. 2 of Law 4/2013 and subsequent amendments and additions, as well as through training institutions recognized by the Association and meeting the characteristics and requirements required by the Regulations dictated in this regard by the Board of Directors and;Â enhance and promote the professional activity of its members and the dissemination of information and knowledge related to it, as well as proceed with the representation of common instances and the protection of the profession in political and institutional forums, (including European and international) also pursuant to art. 3 of Law 4/2013 and subsequent amendments and additions;Â encourage and promote all initiatives related to the profession in the fields of social security, welfare, insurance, tax in accordance with the principles of current regulations;Â to increase and develop the image and profession as well as the professionalism of the members, who are required to comply with the Code of Ethics and Continuing Education.
FAIP Italia COUNSELING is present in various Italian and international organizations; among these, as an associate she is a member of the National Board of Directors in the Coordination of Free Professional Associations (CoLAP), she is associated with the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the ACA-Europe Branch, she is a member of the International Association for Counselling (IAC) and she is a UNI member.

This means getting Counseling out of manuals, out of fine bureaucracy and itself, to enter into the palpable and everyday reality where to bring the values of the profession, its art, its specific “caring” in the helping relationship. Â
For FAIP it is essential to cultivate and bear witness to a method: “Being a counselor” always, even in the claim of rights, in openness to dialogue, in sharing.
Our profession, now more than ever, needs a serious and competent, “socio-centric” professional policy that is authoritative and concrete, not demagogic or instrumental.  Â
